Entré en una habitación vacía. Solo había cuatro paredes blancas a mi alrededor y un pequeño orificio en el techo, justo encima de mí. A través de él entraba un hilo de agua, apenas visible. Únicamente lograba escuchar el sutil viento a lo lejos. Sin poder moverme, cerré los ojos y logré verme a mí misma sin carne ni huesos. Solo era mi piel, flotando en el infinito. Sentí el agua tocar los nervios de la planta de mis pies y volví al espacio físico. Una sensación eléctrica me recorrió hasta la nuca. La habitación en la que estaba comenzó a llenarse rápidamente de agua sin saber realmente de dónde venía. Uno a uno mis dedos se desprendieron del suelo y comencé a flotar. El techo desapareció y al mirar arriba logré visualizar la luz de la luna reflejada en la superficie. Desperté.
Fluctuante Marea, nació como un escape emocional de la artista Andy Crod. Originaria de México. Creció en un entorno en donde constantemente se sintió frustrada e incomprendida porque aún no se reconocía que era hipersensible, un rasgo de personalidad que existe en aproximadamente 20% de la población. Constantemente se le confundía como bipolar o autista, recibiendo malos diagnósticos y medicamentos psiquiátricos innecesarios. La hipersensibilidad es una condición en la que los sentidos están constantemente sobre estimulados, permitiéndole a la persona con este rasgo percibir y analizar con mayor agudeza imágenes, olores, sabores o sonidos. En un espacio mal manejado, una persona hipersensible puede sufrir de depresión o ansiedad al no recibir un descanso de tantos estímulos. Conforme fue creciendo aprendió a dominar herramientas que le permitieron canalizar toda esa sensibilidad en distintas creaciones. Entre ellas el collage, siendo el dolor uno de los principales temas que domina. Utiliza la frialdad de la medicina o de los diagramas que encuentra en enciclopedias para tocar temas como la muerte, el abuso sexual, los pensamientos suicidas, la alquimia y los sueños lúcidos. Fluctuante Marea es la representación física de aquello intangible pero físicamente punzante.

I entered into an empty room. There was no windows, only a small hole in the ceiling, right above me. A trickle of water came through it, barely visible. I could only hear the subtle wind in the distance. Unable to move, I closed my eyes and instantly saw my flesh without bones. It was just my skin, floating in infinity. I felt the water touch the nerves of the soles of my feet and I returned to the physical space. An electric sensation ran through my neck. The room began to quickly fill with water, I didn’t know where it was coming from. One by one my fingers came off the ground and I began to float. The ceiling disappeared and when I looked up I was able to see the moonlight reflected on the surface. I woke up.
Fluctuante Marea, was born as an emotional outlet from the artist Andy Crod, from Mexico. She grew up in an environment where she was constantly frustrated and misunderstood because it was not yet recognized that she was hypersensitive (HSP), a personality trait that exists in approximately 20% of the population. She was constantly mistaken for being bipolar or autistic, receiving misdiagnoses and unnecessary psychiatric medications. Hypersensitivity is a condition in which the senses are constantly overstimulated, allowing the person with this trait to perceive and analyze images, smells, tastes or sounds more acutely. In a poorly managed space, an hypersensitive person can suffer from depression or anxiety by not receiving a correct managing from so many stimuli. As she grew older, she learned to master tools that allowed her to channel all that sensitivity into different creations. Among them is collage, pain being one of the main themes that she dominates. She uses the coldness of medicine and the diagrams she finds in old encyclopedias to visually translate topics such as death, sexual abuse, suicidal thoughts, alchemy, and lucid dreaming. Fluctuante Marea is the physical representation of that which is intangible and impossible to see yet physically burning and uncomfortable.
